Dr Charalampos Papagoras has graduated from the Department of Medicine, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Subsequently, he specialized in Rheumatology at the University Hospital of Ioannina, while at the same time he worked on his thesis at the Medical School, University of Ioannina. In 2018 he was elected Assistant Professor of Rheumatology at the Department of Medicine, Democritus University of Thrace and in 2023 he was appointed Associate Professor. Since 2018 he also serves as a physician in the First Department of Internal Medicine at the University Hospital of Alexandroupolis. The subject of his thesis was “Seronegative Spondyloarthropathies and Cardiovascular Risk”. The Spondyloarthritides, as well as autoinflammatory syndromes, are the focus of his research both in their clinical and translational aspect. Moreover, he has participated in several investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored observational and interventional clinical studies. He is the primary investigator in the Prospective Multicenter Registries of Psoriatic Arthritis and Axial Spondyloarthritis in Greece, while he has organized and coordinated the Greek Registry of COVID19 in patients with rheumatic diseases. Up to date he has published 61 papers in international peer-reviewed journals with more than 1900 citations.
